Lord Whitney Studio Tour

Lord Whitney, composed of Rebecca Whitney and xxx Lord are a Leeds based design studio, exploring every aspect of the creative industry. Despite incorporating elements of Graphic Design within their practice, the main focus of the talk was making us understand the benefits of collaboration. Despite both founders studying Graphic Design at Leeds Met, their specialities lie in set design, 3D Visuals and generally playing around, making wonderfully weird things.

LW spoke in a passionate and inspiring tone, advising us all to pursue the elements we enjoy most, then incorporating that into our work. Honesty was also a large part of LW's talk, as they explained the harder times in the 6 years their studio have been running, and its accidental start up!

The Lord Whitney studio was also a thing of magic. Not only specially, being set on the top floor of an old industrial building, yet the vast range of randomness on show. Their laid back attitude definitely shone through in the best way, with plant life and comical signs such as "Hire Us" hanging around. Despite being such a inspiring space, the honesty shone through again saying that very little is 'first hand', they simply collect as they go- something I can defiantly relate to!
